            Softball Recap: North Platte Bulldogs vs. Lincoln Southeast Knights        
        
		
        
        
            The home team had won the previous five meetings between North Platte and Lincoln Southeast, and North Platte kept the tradition alive. The Bulldogs blew past the Knights 11-5 on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by  exactly six  runs.
 Tiffany Townsend was a  major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 11 batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned  (and three unearned) runs off   five  hits. Those  11  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.

 In other batting news,  Lauren Bowers and  Katie Titus did most of the damage at the plate:  Bowers  went 3-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles, while  Titus  went 3-for-4 with one  home run and two  runs. Those  two  doubles gave  Bowers a new career-high.  Brylee Wilkerson was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with two  RBI and one  run.
 North Platte  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 15  hits. They are 5-2 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
North Platte has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Lincoln Southeast,  they are  on  an  11-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-14.
 North Platte has already played their next game,  a  19-3  defeat against Northwest on the 15th. As for Lincoln Southeast, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  match,  an  11-0  loss against Lincoln Southwest on the 15th.
