Basketball Recap: Blacklick Valley Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Blacklick Valley had won six straight home games and Kristin Szymusiak did her part to make it seven on Friday. The Blacklick Valley Vikings took their match with ease, bagging a 70-35 win over the Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams thanks in part to Szymusiak, who went 11 for 18 en route to 27 points and seven steals. The game was her fifth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Riley Hoover, who posted 19 points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

Blacklick Valley's record now sits at 14-1. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, they moved to 6-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Blacklick Valley will head out on the road to square off against Meyersdale at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Turkeyfoot Valley Area has already played their next contest (against Bishop Walsh), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
