Baseball Recap: Forreston Takes a Loss

If Forreston was riding high fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Polo on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals fell 7-3 to the Marengo Indians on Saturday. The Cardinals have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Mickey Probst and Brady Gill did some serious damage despite the final result: Probst got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run, while Gill went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Forreston's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Marengo, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forreston will take on Eastland at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Marengo, they will challenge Harvard at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
