Softball Recap: Limon Drops Highest Score of Season Against Burlington

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Limon). They blew past the Burlington Cougars 18-12 on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Limon got a massive performance out of Paige Denne, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave Denne a new career-high. Jessa Book was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Limon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Limon's win bumped their record up to 3-13. As for Burlington, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-7.

Coming up, Limon will take on Strasburg at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Badgers will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least ten runs in their last six contests. As for Burlington, they will face off against Sterling at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.86 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
