Softball Recap: Pierce Wins Going Away Against Ord

Pierce had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Ord on Saturday. The Bluejays were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Chanticleers. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for the Bluejays this season.

Kaelyn Halsey was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Halsey was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September of 2024.

In other batting news, Evelyn Skrdla was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Dvorak, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Pierce always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ord only posted an OBP of .429.

Pierce's record now sits at 3-1. As for Ord, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pierce will take on Highway 91 at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ord, they will challenge Grand Island Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
