Basketball Preview: San Marcos Knights vs. Westview Wolverines
San Marcos and the Wolverines are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The San Marcos Knights' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Westview Wolverines at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. San Marcos will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 406th, while the Wolverines are ranked 93rd).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-39, which was the final score in San Marcos' tilt against the Nighthawks on Wednesday. San Marcos has not had much luck with the Nighthawks recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, even though Poway scored an imposing 64 points on Wednesday, Westview still came out on top. Westview took their match against the Titans 72-64.
San Marcos' loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Westview, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.
