Basketball Recap: Paradise Sets Scoring Season-High Against Hayfork

Paradise scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against the Hayfork Timberjacks, falling 59-37. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Timberjacks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2016.

Hayfork found their leader in freshman Kaelynn Bayley, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine steals. Bayley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Yarbrough, who posted eight points and nine steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Paradise and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Hayfork, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-6.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Loyalton the next time they take the court. Hayfork will head out to face Loyalton at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, while Paradise will play them later in the day, at 11:30 a.m.
