Basketball Game Preview: Fall River Bulldogs vs. Modoc Braves

The Fall River Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the Modoc Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Fall River is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since December 20, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Trinity, falling 57-31. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Modoc blew past Mt. Shasta, posting a 68-22 win. The Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Fall River better keep an eye on Jordyn Sandage. She was instrumental in Modoc's win, going 9 of 17 on her way to 20 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Sandage is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ashlynn Albright, who posted six points and nine assists.

Modoc smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 22 consecutive games.

Modoc is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points over those games. As for Fall River, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.

Fall River came up short against Modoc in their previous matchup back in January, falling 39-31. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Sandage, who went 7 for 16 en route to 19 points and six rebounds.
