Softball Recap: Shaw Comes Up Short

Shaw was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 10-6 to the Brookstone Cougars. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Michayla Bledsoe made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Gerber, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Shaw's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shaw will host Manchester at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.25 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Brookstone, they will challenge Southland Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
