Baseball Recap: Thomson Extends Winning Streak to Three

Thomson entered their tilt with Butler on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let Butler get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory. Considering Thomson has won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Tre Lazenby was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Charlie Ducey, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Thomson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .600 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Thomson's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Butler, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Thomson is set to challenge their familiar foe Burke County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Butler will face off against rival Josey at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
