The Wallenpaupack Area Buckhorns had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took down Wyoming Area 40-23 on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Wallenpaupack Area also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Wyoming Area struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Wallenpaupack Area's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Wyoming Area, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wallenpaupack Area will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Delaware Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024. As for Wyoming Area, they will head out on the road to face off against Mountain View at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Mountain View is ranked 345th, while Wyoming Area is ranked 357th).
