Soccer Game Preview: Prairie City-Monroe vs. Boone

The Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs will challenge the Boone Toreadors at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Prairie City-Monroe's last six games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Prairie City-Monroe is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Chariton just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, Boone waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Tigers as they made off with a 4-1 win. The result was nothing new for Boone, who have now won five games by three goals or more so far this season.

Boone pushed their record up to 8-6-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those five contests. As for Prairie City-Monroe, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Prairie City-Monroe beat Boone by a goal in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 4-3. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Toreadors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
