Baseball Game Preview: Treutlen Vikings vs. Wheeler County Bulldogs

Treutlen is 2-8 against Wheeler County since March of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Vikings will face off against the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Treutlen came up short against Jenkins County and fell 9-4.

Acie Dickens was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Jack Walker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Wheeler County hadn't done well against Tattnall County recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bulldogs won by a run and slipped past the Warriors 8-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Wheeler County pushed their record up to 9-13 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Treutlen, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
