Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Albany

Albany had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Princeton Tigers 4-2. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 7-2 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Makena Moffat made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season.

Moffat wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Seiter, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Marley Hansel also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Albany's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Princeton, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Albany didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 12-3 win against Stanberry on the 6th. As for Princeton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 5-1 defeat against Trenton on the 8th.
