Laurel Christian's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's fifth consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They never let the Prentiss Christian Saints get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Considering the Lions have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Gracie Blackwell made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lily Shoemake, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in September of 2024. Bella Horn was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Laurel Christian's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Prentiss Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Coming up, Laurel Christian will venture away from home to challenge Adams County Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Prentiss Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
