While Coronado's victory against Doherty wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Spartans 13-12. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Coronado's win was truly a team effort as nine different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Allie Micci, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Tully Thomas was another, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

The victory got Coronado back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coronado will square off against Pueblo South at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Doherty, they will venture away from home to face off against Mullen at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
