Recap: Elite Eagles vs. Highlands Scots
The Elite Eagles can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against Highlands by a score of 34-24.
Elite's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Savannah Barrow led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Barrow has scored at least 25% of Elite's points. Another player making a difference was Rhema Armstrong, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Elite's win bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Highlands, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elite will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ripon at 12:30 p.m. on December 16th. As for Highlands, they will be playing at home against Western Sierra Collegiate Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Western Sierra Collegiate Academy's defense has only allowed 27.2 points per game this season, so Highlands' offense will have their work cut out for Highlands.
