Basketball Recap: Ivy Lamebear and Wau'kel Blake Secure Win for Hoopa Valley

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hoopa Valley had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They walked away with a 61-49 win over the Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks.

Hoopa Valley was led to victory by Wau'Kel Blake and Ivy Lamebear. Blake posted 27 points, while Lamebear put up 18 points. Those 27 points gave Blake a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Harmony Nelson, who earned ten points.

Hoopa Valley now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Tamalpais, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-14.

Looking ahead, Hoopa Valley will venture away from home to square off against Sonoma Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sonoma Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Hoopa Valley surely won't give up without a fight. Tamalpais does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
