After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Saugus, West Ranch was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Castaic Coyotes 21-19. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 42-28 victory the Coyotes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

West Ranch didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jayden Guzman and Joshua Mussard. Guzman got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Although Castaic took the loss, they still got scores from Izaiah Becerra, Vicente Davalos, and Grayson Gonzalez.

West Ranch's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-6. As for Castaic, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coming up, West Ranch will challenge Golden Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Grizzlies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Castaic, they will face off against Saugus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
