Soccer Game Preview: Segerstrom vs. Godinez Fundamental

The Segerstrom Jaguars will challenge the Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Last Thursday, Segerstrom sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Buena Park. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 388th, while the Coyotes are ranked 944th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Godinez Fundamental's game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Tustin 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Grizzlies.

Sarah Chimal and Joahanna Castellanos scored both of Godinez Fundamental's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 19 goals.

Segerstrom's victory bumped their record up to 10-5-4. As for Godinez Fundamental, their win bumped their record up to 9-4-4.
