Basketball Game Preview: Stone Ridge Christian Knights vs. Westlake Charter Explorers

The Stone Ridge Christian Knights will challenge the Westlake Charter Explorers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Stone Ridge Christian against Delhi as the team secured a 47-11 win. The game marked the Knights' most dominant victory of the season.

Stone Ridge Christian found their leader in sophomore Bella Ewing, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Ewing has scored at least a third of Stone Ridge Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tailynn Dungy, who posted two points and ten steals.

Meanwhile, Westlake Charter humbled Elite with a 53-10 victory. The Explorers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Stone Ridge Christian better focus on containing Amiliana Moore and Anthonia Nwaukoni as the pair were huge in Westlake Charter's win. Moore had ten points and eight steals, while Nwaukoni made all 5 shots she took for 10 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Moore a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Emiko Binger, who earned six points.

Westlake Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in ten consecutive matches.

Westlake Charter's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Stone Ridge Christian, they are also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season.

Stone Ridge Christian strolled past Westlake Charter in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 55-39. Will Stone Ridge Christian repeat their success, or does Westlake Charter have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
