Basketball Game Preview: Purdue Polytechnic Techies vs. Indianapolis Washington Continentals

The Purdue Polytechnic Techies will square off against the Indianapolis Washington Continentals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Purdue Polytechnic will be strutting in after a win while Indianapolis Washington will be coming in after a defeat.

Purdue Polytechnic is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Heritage Christian: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Techies blew the Eagles out of the water with a 77-40 final score. The Techies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 37 points or more this season.

Purdue Polytechnic got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Te'Asia Briscoe out in front who went 11-for-13 en route to 25 points along with seven blocks and five assists. Briscoe is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games she's played. Amelia Story was another key player, shooting 70% from beyond the arc to rack up 21 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Purdue Polytechnic was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage Christian only racked up eight.

Meanwhile, Indianapolis Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Tindley 62-9.

The win made it two in a row for Purdue Polytechnic and bumps their season record up to 6-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.5 points over those games. As for Indianapolis Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Everything came up roses for Purdue Polytechnic against Indianapolis Washington in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 64-9 win. Will the Techies repeat their success, or do the Continentals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
