Preview: East Nicolaus Spartans vs. Winters Warriors

The East Nicolaus Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Winters Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, East Nicolaus strolled past Paradise with points to spare, taking the game 52-36. The victory made it back-to-back wins for East Nicolaus.

Rylee Gillespie and Makinze Massey were among the main playmakers for East Nicolaus as the former scored 12 points along with six assists and five rebounds and the latter dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. Massey is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played.

Meanwhile, Winters entered their tilt with Durham with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Winters had just enough and edged Durham out 40-38.

East Nicolaus' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Winters, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

East Nicolaus couldn't quite finish off Winters in their previous meeting back in January and fell 50-47. Can East Nicolaus avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
