Baseball Recap: Savannah Country Day Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Savannah Country Day took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Metter, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Savannah Country Day Hornets came out on top in a nail-biter against the Metter Tigers on Wednesday, sneaking past 2-1. Two seems to be a good number for the Hornets as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Savannah Country Day's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Mckinney, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Chris Wynn also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The victory was the third in a row for Savannah Country Day, bringing their record for this year to 3-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Metter, they moved to 5-7 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Savannah Country Day will take on Bleckley County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Metter, they will square off against McIntosh County Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
