Softball Recap: Sonoraville Phoenix vs. Cartersville Hurricanes
Sonoraville fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Cartersville on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hurricanes by a score of 3-2. The Phoenix were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hurricanes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
Lila Mullinax was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out 17 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk).
