Softball Recap: Mark Twain Sets Scoring Season-High Against Wright City

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mark Twain). They put the hurt on the Wright City Wildcats with a sharp 22-10 win on Friday. Considering the Tigers have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mark Twain got a massive performance out of Ella Moss, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Amaris Melvin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

Mark Twain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .540. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Mark Twain's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Wright City, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Mark Twain will face off against Moberly at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wright City, they will take on Owensville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
