New Franklin barely beat Pilot Grove the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Tigers a 15-0 shutout on Thursday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by seven runs or more this season.

Callie Chitwood made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Chitwood was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lily Chitwood, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Skylar Shaw, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

New Franklin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

New Franklin's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Pilot Grove, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. New Franklin will challenge Boonville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pilot Grove, they will head out to challenge Fayette at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
