Valley Christian Academy received a tough blow as they fell 47-30 to Santa Ynez. Valley Christian Academy has struggled against Santa Ynez recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Valley Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elle Mason, who scored six points along with six rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Carissa Maples, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Leading Santa Ynez to victory were Jay Bradford and Helina Pecile. Bradford dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Pecile dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. Keegan Withrow was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Valley Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Santa Ynez, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
Valley Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Coastal Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 12th. Santa Ynez's road trip will continue as they head out to face Strathmore at 7:00 p.m. on December 27, 2023. Strathmore is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
