Basketball Recap: North Bay Haven Academy Find Success

North Bay Haven Academy hadn't done well against Franklin County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers skirted past the Franklin County Seahawks 55-53. For the Buccaneers, this counts as revenge for the 59-55 victory the Seahawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Among those leading the charge was Josuel Cruz, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 19 points and three steals. Jamal Fennell was another key player, putting up six points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Despite the loss, Franklin County still got an impressive performance from Ja'Michael Miller, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadiq Jones, who posted five points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

North Bay Haven Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Franklin County, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.

North Bay Haven Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-37 loss against Mosley on the 4th. As for Franklin County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Port St. Joe at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th.
