Baseball Recap: Whiting Victorious

Seven must be Whiting's lucky number: they beat East Chicago Central with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Oilers came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 7-4. The Oilers haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Julian Madrueno was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Carlos Jimenez also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Whiting's win bumped their record up to 6-20. As for East Chicago Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season.
