Basketball Game Preview: Canon-McMillan Big Macs vs. Taylor Allderdice Dragons

The Canon-McMillan Big Macs will square off against the Taylor Allderdice Dragons on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Canon-McMillan is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Mt. Lebanon 36-34. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Madison Clair was the offensive standout of the contest as she posted 18 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Faye Saunders, who went 5-for-7 en route to 10 points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Taylor Allderdice had already won 15 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40 points) and they went ahead and made it 16 on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 64-48 victory over the Royals.

Taylor Allderdice pushed their record up to 20-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points over those games. As for Canon-McMillan, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Canon-McMillan against Taylor Allderdice when the teams last played back in December of 2014, as the squad secured a 70-35 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Canon-McMillan since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
