Soccer Game Preview: Oakdale vs. Del Campo

The Oakdale Mustangs will square off against the Del Campo Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Oakdale is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Buhach Colony by a score of 3-1. The result kept the Mustangs happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 29th.

They hit Buhach Colony with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Dakota Burford, Kaia Cox, and Ceci Cotton.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Del Campo, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Ceres a 2-0 shutout on Tuesday. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 516th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Oakdale pushed their record up to 15-9 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those six contests. As for Del Campo, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.
