Soccer Game Preview: Sonora vs. Ripon

Sonora is 0-4 against Ripon since December of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Sonora Wildcats will head out to challenge the Ripon Indians at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Sonora comes in on five and Ripon on 11.

Sonora's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over Hughson. Adyson Kroeze was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Ripon's and Ripon Christian's game on Friday was close at halftime, but Ripon turned on the heat in the second half with two goals. Everything went Ripon's way against Ripon Christian as Ripon made off with a 3-0 victory. The Indians' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five contests.

Ripon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 48 goals over those 13 games. As for Sonora, their win bumped their record up to 10-2-1.

Sonora came up short against Ripon in their previous matchup back in January, falling 3-1. Can Sonora avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
