Baseball Recap: New Creation Christian Academy Takes a Loss

If New Creation Christian Academy was feeling good fresh off their 14-2 takedown of Abundant Life Christian Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. New Creation Christian Academy came up short against the Scholars Guild Academy Spartans on Thursday, falling 8-0. The shutout was out of character for the Crusaders seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

New Creation Christian Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Googe, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

New Creation Christian Academy's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-4. As for Scholars Guild Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season.

New Creation Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Unity Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. New Creation Christian Academy is facing Unity Christian at the right time seeing as Unity Christian is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Scholars Guild Academy, they will head out to challenge Johnson Ferry Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
