Baseball Recap: Banneker Comes Up Short

Banneker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They came up short against the Lovejoy Wildcats, falling 16-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 back in March.

Banneker's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Lovejoy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11-1.

Coming up, Banneker will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Dutchtown at 6:00 p.m. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lovejoy, they will head out to square off against McIntosh at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chiefs have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
