Softball Recap: Conifer Lobos vs. Dakota Ridge Eagles

Conifer had lost five straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 2-7 to make it six. They lost 16-3 to the Dakota Ridge Eagles. The Lobos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

As for Dakota Ridge, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Dakota Ridge's part, Avery Andrews was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI Andrews has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Bortscheller, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conifer will venture away from home to face off against Thornton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Dakota Ridge, they will challenge Green Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
