Basketball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Takes a Loss

Mt. Pleasant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Gilroy Mustangs and fell 58-29. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in January of 2023.

Mt. Pleasant's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Gilroy, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Pleasant will take on Oak Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mt. Pleasant is facing Oak Grove at the right time seeing as Oak Grove is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Gilroy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Live Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Live Oak will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Gilroy surely won't give up without a fight.
