Softball Recap: Greenbrier Takes a Loss

Greenbrier scored first but ultimately less than Swainsboro in their game on Thursday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-3. The Wolfpack have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Greenbrier got a good showing from Emma Miller, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Miller has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Greenbrier saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooke Raymond, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Those stolen bases were Raymond's first of the season. Another was Eva Martin, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Greenbrier's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Swainsboro, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

Greenbrier has already played their next match, an 11-2 win against Screven County on the 2nd. As for Swainsboro, they will be playing at home against Vidalia at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
