Softball Recap: Mountain Range Comes Up Short

Mountain Range extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-8. They lost 13-2 to the Northglenn Norsemen. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 19-9 to the Norsemen when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Abby Judd was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Audryanna Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As for Northglenn, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games.

On Northglenn's side, Claire Wolford made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Wolford was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooklynn Hendrick, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs she has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Stephanie Avelar, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain Range will welcome Prairie View at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Thunderhawks have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Northglenn, they will host Overland at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Norsemen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trailblazers have averaged an impressive 13.5 runs per game this season.
