Everything went their way against the Hermitage Hornets on Friday as they made off with a 24-0 win. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
K Dougherty made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Dougherty was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Maeli Holman was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, eight RBI, and three runs. Ashtyn Anderson was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Walnut Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .710. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Walnut Grove's record now sits at 3-4. As for Hermitage, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
