Softball Recap: Thomas Jefferson Takes a Loss

Thomas Jefferson extended their losing streak to 20 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-20. They lost 16-1 to the Denver South Ravens. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 4, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Thomas Jefferson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marnee Berry, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

As for Denver South, they now have a winning record of 11-10. They haven't had any issues with Thomas Jefferson recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

On Denver South's side, Olivia Gibson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Gibson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in October of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Gibson, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 3 RBI per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kass Mildoon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Thomas Jefferson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 17-6 defeat against George Washington on the 9th. As for Denver South, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-13 win against Denver East on the 9th.
