Perkiomen Valley has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. The Perkiomen Valley Vikings and Metropolitan will round out the year against one another at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Perkiomen Valley scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 79-19 victory over Upper Perkiomen. Given Perkiomen Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Upper Perkiomen is ranked 516th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Grace Galbavy continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Perkiomen Valley's points. Grace Miley was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Metropolitan had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They blew past Far Rockaway, posting a 61-8 win at home. That looming 61-8 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Metropolitan yet this season.
Perkiomen Valley's win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Metropolitan, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
