Softball Recap: Tift County Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Tift County couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brookwood Broncos on Monday. The Blue Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Broncos earlier this season, when they won 5-1.

Tift County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marlee Veazey, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Tift County's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-5. As for Brookwood, they pushed their record up to 23-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

While Tift County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
