Soccer Recap: Irvine Comes Up Short

Irvine lost against Sage Hill back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Irvine Vaqueros came up short against the Sage Hill Lightning, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Vaqueros can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 717th, while the Lightning are ranked 225th).

This is the second loss in a row for Irvine and nudges their season record down to 1-9-1. As for Sage Hill, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Irvine wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against St. Margaret's on the 17th. As for Sage Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Portola on the 17th.
