Lake Havasu had won three straight road games dating back to last season and Luke Johnson did his part to make it four on Friday. The Knights took down the Buckeye Hawks 44-28 with plenty of help from Johnson, who picked up 164 receiving yards and one TD, and also punched in three scores on the ground. He showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 63 yards.

Lake Havasu didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Carter Devett and Spencer Ibarra. Lake Havasu got some further help from Owen Merrill: he picked up 2.5 sacks and made eight total tackles (5.0 for loss).

Despite the defeat, Buckeye had strong showings from Xylin Yancy, who rushed for 64 yards and one touchdown, and Salvador Castro, who picked up 103 receiving yards and one score.

Lake Havasu's record is now 5-1. As for Buckeye, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Havasu will head out to square off against Deer Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will be up against the Skyhawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Buckeye, they are taking a road trip to challenge Youngker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Roughriders' defense has only allowed 12.3 points per game this season, so the Hawks' offense will have their work cut out for them.
