Softball Recap: O'Neill Takes a Loss

If O'Neill was riding high fresh off their 12-1 takedown of Blue River on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles lost 10-2 to NEN on Tuesday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with NEN recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Harley Kinnison made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That triple was her first of the season.

O'Neill's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for NEN, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. O'Neill will welcome Ord at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for NEN, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Tekamah-Herman at 7:00 p.m. NEN's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
