Basketball Recap: Monday's Win Is Marionville's 12th in Last 15 Outings

Marionville's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Everything went their way against the Pierce City Eagles as the Marionville Comets made off with a 58-38 win. Given the Comets' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Eagles are ranked 254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marionville is also on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Pierce City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marionville will host Ash Grove at 6:00 p.m. on February 10th. Pierce City has already played their next match (against Stockton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
