Football Recap: Bishop Diego Takes a Loss

If Bishop Diego was riding high fresh off their 43-16 takedown of Camarillo last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals and the Oaks Christian Lions were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Cardinals suffered a 14-13 defeat. The contest marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Although Bishop Diego took the loss, they still got scores from Tua Puailoa Rojas and Samuel Crawford.

Bishop Diego didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Remi Boykin and Nathan Hernandez. Bishop Diego received some extra help from Crawford, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Having lost for the first time this season, Bishop Diego fell to 6-1. As for Oaks Christian, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-5.

Bishop Diego didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 24-12 victory against Simi Valley on the 17th. As for Oaks Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 19-0 loss against St. Bonaventure on the 17th.
