Basketball Recap: Hoover Extends Winning Streak to Four

Hoover had won three straight games and Jewel Parker did her part to make it four on Monday. The Hoover Cardinals took down the Madison Warhawks 48-34 thanks in part to Parker, who posted 21 points. The match was her sixth in a row with at least ten points.

Despite the loss, Madison still got an impressive performance from Aniyah Murrell, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. Murrell is becoming a predictor of Madison's success: when she posts at least ten boards the team is 6-3 (and 3-7 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Hailee Bracy, who scored eight points and five rebounds.

Hoover's win bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Madison, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hoover will venture away from home to take on San Diego at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hoover is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season. Madison has already played their next contest (against Clairemont), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
