Basketball Recap: Concordia Comes Up Short

Concordia lost against Duchesne back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Concordia Mustangs fell 53-41 to the Duchesne Cardinals. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Concordia saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Grace Samuelson dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Samuelson a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Charis Hughes, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Concordia's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Duchesne, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Concordia has already played their next match (against Fort Calhoun), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Duchesne will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Roncalli Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th.
